Arabic, Amazigh and Morocco for your children
The second and third generations keep the link through language, visits and stories. Help exists.
Key facts
- Morocco sends teachers of Arabic and Moroccan culture to several European countries through the Hassan II Foundation for Moroccans abroad.
- The Foundation organises a summer cultural stay in Morocco every year for children of Moroccans abroad, most recently in July 2026.
- The National Day of Moroccans Abroad is 10 August.
Steps
- Ask your consulate or the Foundation where classes run near you.
- Speak Darija or Tamazight at home, even a little every day. Our Darija of the day is one small start.
- Give children their own reason to go: a cousin, a sport, a recipe, a village story.
Watch out
- A child who is never registered at the consulate has no Moroccan papers later. Register the birth first.
